My name is Leihila Awong, and I am asking for help for my older brother, Lansen Awong, who is 33 years old and currently homeless. I am hoping to raise funds to provide him with a safe, clean place to live once he is released from the hospital.
On December 23, 2025, at around 5:15 a.m., my brother was walking along Farrington Highway when he was struck by an unidentified vehicle traveling townbound. The impact threw his body into a guardrail, where he landed and sustained the majority of his injuries.
A close friend who was walking with him said everything happened so fast that she didn’t even realize what had occurred until she saw my brother’s body hanging over the guardrail. She rushed to him immediately, pulling him down and doing everything she could to help until emergency responders arrived. She later shared that his injuries were so severe that his body was stuck in a fetal position from the trauma.
Despite the seriousness of the situation, help was delayed. My brother was conscious and in pain, yet he was left waiting before proper medical aid was provided. This moment changed his life—and our family’s—forever.
My brother is now hospitalized and facing a long road to recovery. When he is discharged, he has nowhere safe to go. These funds will be used to secure stable housing, basic necessities, and a clean environment where he can heal with dignity.
Any donation, share, or kind word means more than we can express. Thank you for taking the time to read my brother’s story and for helping us give him a chance to recover safely and rebuild his life.
