Hit & Run - Shawn Brightwell

The man: Shawn Brightwell, a father and husband, was a victim of a horrible "hit and run" accident on September 25th in Denton County while traveling home on his motorcycle . The police department still has not located the driver. Shawn is a loyal and passionate person that has always reached out to encourage and assist others.

The vocation: Shawn is an Irrigation Technician by trade and heavily depended on by the company he works for. In the landscaping industry, irrigation technicians are highly valued employees that ensure the plans, design and maintenance for beautiful properties thrive as they should.

The need: He has suffered broken vertebrae in upper and lower back, broken ribs and a brain bleed as a result of the accident. For a man that loves his work and is very active, these injuries have been devastating. It has created a tremendous financial need for the family. Shawn has no health insurance. His vehicle insurance did not include any "uninsured motorist" coverage so there is no assistance available through this. He desperately needs help covering medical costs. His family was dependent on his income and needs help covering bills, buying food as well as other needed items until he can recover and/or qualify for short-term disability assistance.
