Hello anyone who may be reading, thank you for stopping by our page. I would like to share this event in our lives with you in hopes that we can begin rebuilding.
it was a fairly normal night we had decided to stay in that day, normally we would be selling our custom made jewelry in the city, but do to the rain we decided to stay in. we had both gone to sleep early my fiance woke up and saw water coming through, as she opened the door to our room water was also seeping through the window within 5 minutes the water was at our waists we didn't have time to find our phones which were now under water the water. Another 2 mins and the water was now close to our shoulders. I grabbed my fiance and proceeded to begin attempting to swim out she can't swim so I had to carry her over furniture. It had begun to collapse all around us. There were electronics everywhere. I worried about us getting electrocuted more than just drowning. I was able to find the door that led to the up stairs to the first floor I was able to push the door open before we were completely submerged, we barely made it out and almost drowned. in the matter of 10mins we lost everything, computers electronics, equipment we use for our jewelry my first brand new electric bike that we use to transport our jewelry table to the city. I used to use a shopping cart and stroller before something that was very difficult, all our clothes and personal belongings currently now we are sharing an air mattress in my parents living room we are barely able to get sleep now.. some of our friends have give in us some clothes I was able to wash and sanitize some our jewelry equipment that we take to the city.we had computers, speakers, sound systems. tvs and a refrigerator basically all of the things we worked really hard for and all of my life's work gone in 10 mins. we were left with the clothes on our backs and all we can think about is how that night we could of easily died. This has been devastating. in all honesty it's really hard to put a number on the amount of damage that has occurred. we have never been the type to ask for help, we have always been the ones to help others through our jewelry and music. we are asking for this amount because we want to improve our living situation. we desperately need housing and we feel that this amount will really help us secure a place where we can begin rebuilding our lives. we thank each of you for taking the time to read this and our hearts go out to those who have also suffered gravely from this diaster Hurricane. Ida may have taken our possessions but it has not taken away our drive and determination to press on and provide people with quality custom handmade jewelry thank you for your support.
The water reached such a high level there was only 3 steps of the staircase that leads upstairs

This is my electric bike I had recently purchased to help transport our table

An attempt to salvage our phones but so far nothing has worked

Here is our jewelry table a few nights before everything happened

Our jewelry table on we are pressing on!!
