Hit by a Taxi

Unfortunately Tuesday, June 5th, I was hit by a yellow taxi cab in Manhattan when I was heading home from my Sommelier School. My foot has been broken and I will be out of work for about 6 weeks for recovery and physical therapy. My heart is broken that I won't be able to help support my fiancé and I during this time, on top of the fact because I've recently moved here from California (where health insurance was covered by my employer) I do not have any health insurance here on the east coast.

I will have to pay for a lawyer to pursue the accident as well which is causing my household and I a lot of stress and worry. It's a very depressing situation to be immobile for the first time in my life. It's embarrassing coming to the public for help, but I feel I've done a lot for my community and am hoping they don't see this as selfish but as an extended arm for help. Anything small would be a grand gesture in my recovery. Thank you for reading.
