While riding my scooter home on a quiet residential street just one block from my apartment, I was hit by a car. I suffered a broken left clavicle and a fractured left femur and was taken to the emergency room by ambulance. Since the accident, I have been unable to work my job as a personal chef. while recovering from my injuries. Without the ability to earn an income, I have exhausted my savings trying to stay afloat and keep a roof over my head. Despite doing everything I could to keep up, I have fallen behind on rent and am now facing eviction.
I currently owe $2,656.52 in past-due rent—$456.52 from June and $2,200 for July. After explaining my circumstances, my landlord kindly agreed to give me until July 15 to come up with the past-due rent. I'm incredibly grateful for the extra time, but it's my last opportunity to catch up and avoid eviction. Although I have an attorney handling my injury claim, legal cases take time, and I won't receive any compensation while the case is pending. Right now, I need help covering my immediate housing costs so I can continue recovering.
Asking for help is not easy for me but right now, I need a helping hand to get through a situation I never saw coming. Every donation, no matter the amount, brings me one step closer to staying housed, continuing my recovery, and rebuilding my life. If you're unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser would mean just as much. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any kindness, support, or encouragement you can offer. It truly means more than I can express.
