Hit and Run: Asking for Support

Hello everyone,

Unfortunately, on Tuesday, June 3rd, my parked car was in a hit-and-run accident. Someone drove through the lawn of my apartment complex, crashed into my car, and fled the scene. The impact pushed my car into my neighbor’s, causing extensive damage to both sides of my vehicle.

I’ve done everything I can to track down who’s responsible — I’ve reached out to nearby businesses about security footage, spoken with neighbors, and contacted my apartment management — but so far, there’s been no leads. I’m no stranger to hard work — in fact, I’m almost never not working. That’s why it’s so difficult and humbling for me to ask for help right now. I work at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and care for several families in the area as a nanny. On top of that, I recently started nursing school, which I’m paying for entirely out of pocket.

I wouldn’t be reaching out if I weren’t in a position where I genuinely needed support. I’ve received a small amount from my insurance company and have been using my savings, but the estimated cost of repairs is around $4,000 — and that’s before assessing any potential mechanical damage. This situation was completely unexpected. From the bottom of my heart, I truly appreciate any help — whether it’s financial, a share, or simply a prayer. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
