Hit & Run Skateboard Accident Helping Kurt Schultz

One of our best friends, Kurt Schultz, was in a terrible hit and run accident on Oct 8th, 2020. Kurt is a semi driver, a lot of you reading this also know him as one of our first DJs in Mpls and before that a kick ass photographer for our rock music scene.

He was on his way to McPherson, Kansas from Minneapolis to deliver a load. As always, he took his break, parked his rig, jumped on his electric skateboard, and grabbed some snacks from the local gas station. On his route back to his truck, he crossed a county road intersection and was hit by a vehicle. HIT AND RUN! The driver of that vehicle took off and left him to die on the side of the road. He was unconscious for nobody knows how long. A city worker happened to stumble upon his body, saw the blood, and took off his own shirt to try to help stop the bleeding. The hit and run driver broke 8 of Kurt's ribs, one of his collarbones, and caused Pulmonary Contusion (bruised a lung). He lost an estimated 1 liter of blood.

This Go Fund Me is for Kurt and all of what lies ahead of him. He didn't want us to do this, but we obviously didn't listen. He needs some help. He's self employed and will be out of work for at least 2 months. We are asking for donations to help with his inability to pay for living expenses while on bedrest due to missed work and any unexpected medical needs. There will be a lot of healing time ahead. As of today, we are still trying to figure out how to get his semi truck home (it's self owned). Ideas for this are to pay for a licensed trucker to drive to Kansas and bring it home for him. Then there's trying to figure out a way to get HIM home.

Your donations will help pay for a driver flight, car rental, time and gas to get his truck home, etc. We are also looking into buying a special bed and/or chair for him to recover in once he's home. As of now, he can hardly stand.
