History of Rock & Roll: The 2010s

Hey all, JT Curtis here, the host of HISTORY OF ROCK & ROLL, an online YouTube series that chronicles the history of the genera decade by decade. The show incorporates both commentary on historical songs, albums, artists and moments along with sketch-comedy humor. Myself and Nick Patrella (The Other Guy) have been the writers from the getgo, currently joined by co-host Ashley Rose, also having featured Emily Seibert, Kira Buckland, and WGA award winning writer Jay Curtis as our original director. These videos have been cited as sources for music history education are frequently shown in classrooms all over the country. The videos for the 50s, 60s (Pt. 1 & 2) 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s are currently available on YouTube and Patreon.
By popular demand, we are preparing to produce a History of Rock episode on the 2010s (covering the decade spanning from 2010 - 2019). We are planning on releasing this in conjunction with our 10 year anniversary since the release of the History of Rock Introduction video back in December 2014. Admittedly there’s not as much to talk about in terms of rock history as with previous decades so this will most likely be a shorter episode, but some of the albums we’re looking at include Brothers by The Black Keys, Wasting Light by The Foo Fighters, Like Clockwork by Queens of the Stoneage, Paramore’s 2013 album, Hail to the King by Avenged Sevenfold and Nonagon Infinity by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, among many more. Comedic moments would still be incorporated along with some personal recollections and experiences of mine from the decade.
As mentioned in the last fundraiser for the 2000s, these videos tend to take longer and involve expenses to be covered. So I’ve decided to add a fundraiser as we did for the last episode. This would take care of everyone’s transportation, lunch and per diem for all involved and any equipment needed like SD cards and an external drive.
A $15 Donation or more will get your name in the credits of the 2010s. I said last tjme when you go see a movie, you pay about $15 for a ticket, actually it’s gone up by now, so think of your $15 donation as a movie ticket to see History of Rock 2010s from the comfort of your own home… or wherever you’re watching this from. But any donation is greatly appreciated.
The video will first appear on Patreon, in an extended edition and commercial friend, and with any amount of luck, we plan on releasing this on YouTube on the exact date of the 10th anniversary of the series.
A huge thank you to those who support our work. We can't do this without you. Please stay safe everyone!
