Historic Hooper House - Displaced Artist Fund

Hello everyone! First and foremost, my name is Curtis Wilson. I am a Baltimore-based filmmaker and resident of the Hooper House since 2020. This past weekend on September 17, 2022, I and several other independent artists and entrepreneurs suffered from a devastating loss of our studios and personal property in the aftermath of an unexpected fire at our home studios, 100 e 23rd St Baltimore MD 21218. We are all truly heartbroken and working hard to find resources to recover and continue our passions, life work and careers. The Historic James E Hooper House has opened its doors to local artists, and entrepreneurs hoping to engage, network, and allow artists to create and showcase work to their community. This fund will be distributed to all tenants affected and displaced because of this tragedy. Thank you in advance for any resources, capital and kind words that can get us through this tough time.

On October 1st we will be hosting a fund-raiser for Marwas Baltimore.(@marwasbaltimore) A Moroccan and Palestinian-inspired restaurant will be located on the 1st floor of The Hooper House. The event's location is looking to be relocated, and more details will be released soon. This fundraiser is to raise awareness of Marwas and assist with some of the start-up cost of the brick mortor and reserve for the business. A portion of the proceeds will also be put towards this fund for the tenants. Please spread the word and come out to taste delicious food, listen to music and meet some of your neighbors who are making a change in your community.
