This building was salvaged and restored by the Dorsett family. It is in the National Historic Registry. Furthermore, it was the home of Dorsett Publication's "The Scale Cabinetmaker" (a journal for miniaturists) and the various books on miniature building that have been published. When Helen and Jim Dorsett were alive, they also held classes on building miniatures here. So any contribution helps a historic structure and the memory of the Dorsett family. I inherited the building at the time of Meghan Dorsett's death 4 years ago and have been trying to hold things together despite huge increases in the land rental where the Depot bldg. sits. No assistance has been received from Federal, State, County, Town, or Norfolk Southern Railroad.
This is Carol, and I've tried to raise money to paint the roof of the depot bldg through contributions for books in Whistlestop Books. Between Covid and my health issues, that has not worked out so well. The top is in desperate need of painting, and there are a few windows and doors to repair. Most of the exterior painting has been completed, although a few spots need paint or to be repainted, and some boards need to be replaced.

Bottom-line is that I can't get this done without help. So, I turn to you, friends of the depot and the Dorsett's, to help make this happen. Funds will be used to purchase supplies and to pay for the professionals needed to restore the building.
Thank you for any help you can provide.
