Give so Rachel, Elli and Grandpa can secure housing, care, and basics
On December 30, Rachel and her 3-year-old daughter, Elli, returned home from a routine grocery trip to find their lives changed forever. Their townhome was engulfed in flames—a presumed electrical fire that destroyed everything they owned in a matter of minutes.
Rachel is a hardworking single mother who has spent every day building a safe, stable world for her daughter. While we are deeply grateful they were not inside at the time, the loss is total. They are starting over with nothing but the clothes on their backs.
This family is no stranger to uphill battles:
- Elli is a miracle; born at just 1.97 lbs, she spent her first weeks fighting for life in the NICU and continues to manage chronic health issues today.
- Rachel’s father was visiting for the holidays at the time of the fire. Having lost both arms in an industrial accident early in his life, he has spent a lifetime adapting. The fire claimed his personal belongings and, most devastatingly, equipment for his prosthetic arms.
Rachel is the first person to step up when someone else is in need. Now, it is our turn to step up for her. The funds raised will go directly toward the massive task of rebuilding three lives from scratch, including:
- Immediate Housing: Security deposits and temporary shelter.
- Medical & Accessibility Needs: Replacing prosthetic equipment for Rachel’s father and medical essentials for Elli.
- Daily Necessities: Clothing, shoes, toiletries, and furniture.
- Restoring Childhood: Replacing Elli’s toys, books, and bed to give her back a sense of "home."
