His Truth is Marching On!
Thanks to some amazing donars we have raised $1650! Pastor Tom is headed out to the CMI table to meet with students today and share the hope that's found in God. It may be cold outside, but it's warming up in Jesus on the campus of Northern Illinois University! We still have more funds to raise and pray you will consider a gift to help us keep our outreach going to college students.
It's been a long road since Jan, and I began reaching young people on the college campus. (Forty years ago!) With current events and the shocking assasinataion of a national campus minister, we remain convinced this mission field is as important than ever!
We continue to share the gospel, train disciples, and watch students discover their identity and purpose in Jesus. Our weekly outreach table allows us to give hundreds of Bibles and pro-life baby models to hungry students! This has opened many conversations about God’s love, purpose, and the value of human life. Who will lead them? Who will teach them?
Students are being delivered from addictions, finding freedom, growing in faith, and going on to serve in ministries around the world. We truly believe: “If You Change the Campus, You Change the World!”
A vital part of this work is the CMI Campus House. It’s where students receive discipleship, make life changing decisions, and grow into strong followers of Jesus.
However, we are now facing significant financial needs. We are hoping to raise $12,000 for essential Campus House repairs, taxes, insurance, and maintenance to keep it up to code and running during this rough economic patch.
We also house students from all over the world: Pakistan, Tanzania, China, Brazil, Burma and many others! The sweet gospel and worship permeate the atmosphere in the Campus House and many join in our services. The nations are right at our front door!
We are so grateful for this opportunity, but it comes with its challenges. After graduation these students must return home and sometimes encounter visa problems and cannot complete their lease agreements. This creates a deficit and after several such departures leaves us at a real financial loss and the Campus House runs into a ditch.
We are at a pivotal moment in history. We do not know what these days hold, but we do know Who holds these days! We cannot do this alone! We are asking for your prayerful help to continue this mission field.
Jesus said, “The harvest is ripe! Ask the Lord of the Harvest to send out workers into His harvest field!” Matthew 9:37-38
