Help my dad on his Road to Recovery ❤️
On Tuesday morning September 29, 2026, my dad was on his morning walk in Parlier when he was struck by a vehicle. The driver fled the scene, leaving him with life-changing injuries.
He is currently in the ICU, where he is fighting to recover from having multiple broken bones throughout his body. He has multiple surgeries ahead of him and a very long road to recovery.
Twelve years ago, my dad received a kidney and pancreas transplant, which gave him another chance at life. Because of the trauma his body has endured, he is now back on the transplant list for another kidney. His doctors have been able to stabilize his current kidney enough to restart dialysis, but his medical journey is far from over.
What makes this even more heartbreaking is knowing just how much independence my dad fought to maintain.
My dad lost his vision about 15 years ago. Despite becoming completely blind, he never allowed that to stop him from living his life. He grew up in Parlier and knew his community so well that he learned to count his steps and memorize his routes, allowing him to take his daily walks and get where he needed to go without having to depend on anyone.
That independence meant everything to him! He was still walking those familiar streets and living his life independently when this tragedy happened.
We are asking for donations to help with his medical expenses, surgeries, dialysis, rehabilitation, transportation, and the many needs that will come during his recovery.
Any donation, no matter the amount, means so much to our family. If you aren’t able to donate, please consider sharing his story and keeping him in your thoughts and prayers. ❤️
Thank you for helping us support my dad during this incredibly difficult time.
