Hiro’s Emergency Surgery

Hiro is our 4 month old rescue! We adopted him from Milpitas Humane Society 2 weeks ago when he came in from a hoarding case with 27 other puppies.

He’s a super loving and excitable puppy who is learning that the world isn’t as scary as he thinks. He loves to run around and play, but he’s also easily startled. Today when playing with Alyssa’s younger brother, Hiro got too excited and fell off the bed. What should have been just a small fracture ended up being a very serious break in both his radius and ulna. It’s in a place where there’s a lot of nerves and muscles in the way him healing the break with just a cast, since they have to maneuver around the nerves and muscles. If not treated with surgery, he may suffer from chronic lameness in his front right leg or may have to have it amputated in the future.

We don’t expect to hit our goal in full, but any help is super appreciated. We know times are rough, so even just a little bit helps a lot. We’re just 2 college students who want the best possible life for Hiro and hope that he’ll be able to run and jump around as much as he can.
