Hiren's Funeral, Child Education & Family Support

Dear Friends,

It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of our beloved friend Hiren Patel on April 30, 2023. He was a devoted husband and a loving father to his 6-year-old son who lived with his family in Ahmedabad, India. Unfortunately, he lost his battle with multiple organ failure caused by complications stemming from a CMV (Cytomegalovirus) infection after he underwent a kidney transplant. His passing has left a deep void in the lives of his wife and young son.

Hiren's health struggles began two years ago when one of his kidneys failed. He had to undergo a kidney transplant, for which he received one kidney from his mother. However, his health began to deteriorate after the transplant, and he was constantly admitted to the hospital for various health issues for the past two years.

CMV (Cytomegalovirus) infection is a complication in kidney transplant patients, as they are more susceptible to infections due to the use of immunosuppressive drugs that lower their immune system's ability to fight off infections. CMV infection can lead to various complications in kidney transplant patients, such as organ rejection, pneumonia, gastrointestinal problems, and even multi-organ failure, which can be life-threatening. Hiren suffered from gastrointestinal problems for the last 6 months due to the virus and was hospitalized as his other organs including his lungs started to fail.

Despite the challenges he faced, he remained hopeful and resilient, always fighting with a positive attitude. He had a strong support system of family and friends, who rallied around him, providing emotional and financial support.

Unfortunately, his health continued to decline, and he lost his battle with multiple organ failure.

As a community, we can come together to help support his family during this difficult time. We are initiating a fundraiser to raise funds to support his child's education and his family's needs. Our goal is to raise enough funds to help his wife with the financial burden of raising a child on her own and to ensure that their son receives the education he deserves.

Your donations will be used to support his family's immediate needs, including housing, food, and clothing, as well as his son's education expenses.

Since Hiren's family lives in India, I will be responsible for collecting the donations and then converting USD to INR and transferring the money to Hiren's wife Nikita's bank account in India. I will post the transaction once it's completed.
