Hird Islanders in Support of Sapelo Dock Victims

The most celebrated annual event on our neighboring Sapelo Island ended Saturday with tragic losses. Seven people lost their lives and three are critically injured after falling into the water without notice or a chance to say goodbye.

They were there for celebration in great weather and likely brought additional loved ones with them that ended up going home alone. Please take advantage of this opportunity to contribute to the fund representing our island’s support of the victims and their families.

One can only imagine the love and support we would appreciate from our neighboring islanders and community if we were to lose as many of our own at one of our largest events.
