Hip Surgery & not able to work

Donation protected
Written by Dustin Gray.
Surgery is stressful for anyone, but so much more anxiety is added when you live paycheck to paycheck. Julie Loveridge is preparing for a hip replacement surgery on December 19, her last day of work being December 17 for anywhere from 4 weeks to 10+ if there are any issues or complications. She is terrified of the surgery & every aspect surrounding it. One of her main concerns is keeping her daughter affected as little as possible while her Mom heals, not that her surgery & rehab goes well, although, that would be her second concern.
Julie has a really hard time asking for help, even when she really needs it. She says she was raised to figure it out, not to beg or ask for help, so she's having a hard time physically asking anyone for anything. I'm happy to be here to help her out, not that she'll actually ask me for anything that she can "do myself, damnit!" I have to make her stay put sometimes because she is so stubborn & doesn't want to ask for help; not yet, anyway. Ainsley & I are doing everything we can to make her stay comfortable & hate seeing her hurt all of the time.,
It has been accepted throughout the house that Christmas is going to be a bit sparse this year under the tree, but we can play games & watch movies & do the family thing, since surgery is one week before the holiday & we don't know how mobile Julie will want to be. Basic needs & paying utilities, rent, ,& the phone bill is our main concern. I am working but I have to be around to make sure Julz is okay, too. Julie is trying to get on temporary disability, but that takes time. She's also trying to see if we can get any other help, but everything has to go through a bunch of paperwork & more time. She has already had to limit her shifts at work to 2 days a week, & even that is getting to be too much because she hurts so badly right now. She's only still working those 2 days right now because we need the income, but she hurts so much when she gets home that I wish she could just relax, maybe work 1 day a week for the next few weeks, & be able to stay pain-free until she truly is pain-free after surgery, then Bam! The only worry I want her to have is the incision healing so she can get back to her coworkers & customers, many that she considers friends & family after working at the Second Shift for about 15 years.
If anyone can help make the time before & after easier on Julie, it would be appreciated more than most of you could know. She has a Zelle account attached to her phone number, PayPal, or feel free to contact her or I. Thank you for your compassion, consideration, & the time it took to read this. I appreciate all of you that care about Julie. , ❤️
