Hip Replacement Surgery for Tess
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
This is my 7 month old Kelpie puppy Tess.
Tess comes absolutely everywhere with me - to work, to my horses morning and night and pretty much anywhere dogs are allowed! She has quickly become my best friend and has the weirdest, hilarious, sweetest personality iv ever met in any animal iv had.
We noticed an odd lameness in her back legs and hips after we would exercise her so we made a vet appointment. After taking X-rays Tess was diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia in both hips as well as the beginning of arthritis at only 7 months old. This is absolutely heart breaking as her only option for a pain free life is a total double hip replacement costing almost $20,000 in the next two months or we will have to put her down. The vet advised us even medication won't be enough soon and she will only get worse from here on, but we if we did operate her chances of a full functioning happy long life is extremely high.
I am student studying to be a Paramedic and work part time so of course, $20,000 in two months is a crazy amount of money. I know realistically $20,000 is pretty unachievable but if we can get even slightly close to this goal it would make a massive difference, I am doing absolutely everything I can to try and save my dogs life.
Even if it's $5 or $10, anything at all will make a difference and mean the world to us. Tess is apart of the family and I am not ready to say goodbye but I also can't bare the thought of her being in constant pain, so I'm desperate to try and save her.
Thank you for reading her story. xx
