Michael Bullivant has been the lifeblood of the Zimbabwe Academy of Music for many, many years. As the Principal, he has kept the show on the road throughout the trials and tribulations of that country. He was awarded an OBE in the 2020 New Year Honours in recognition of this work.

Michael desperately needs a hip replacement, which surgery (at home in Zimbabwe) will cost around £12,000. This is far more than he can afford, and so I am asking musicians, educators and compassionate people everywhere to chip in as much as you can to help this good and kind man pay for this operation.

I know that this year has been tough for so many people, not least those in the performing arts in the UK. I hate to ask, but I really believe that Michael deserves to get this operation, to be able to continue doing the great work he does.
