Hip replacement for Bill Simmons

My dad has worked as a plumber for the last 36 years and it has understandably taken a toll on his body. His hip has been deteriorating for the last few years and he has done everything he can to alleviate the pain from physical therapy to steroids to experimental treatments. It has reached the point that a full hip replacement is the only option left. He is scheduled for surgery at the end April. If you know my dad, you know how hard it is for him to sit still and not work, and his doctor is recommending that he be off work for at least 6-8 weeks so that he can fully recover from the surgery.

He does not have disability insurance to cover his salary while he is off work. He has decent medical insurance, but he will still have considerable out of pocket expenses. Any donations will go toward medical costs and helping him to pay all of his bills while he cannot work. Anything you can do to help will be greatly appreciated.
