Help! I am crippled awaiting hip replacement.
18 months ago I got a diagnosis of bone on bone osteoarthritis of my left hip following a MRSA infection in my left leg that put me in the hospital for 3 weeks back in fall of 2020. Summer of 2022 I had a nasty spill on my e-bike that left a basketball sized bruise. These things combined led to a steady degeneration of my left hip. I've always been fairly active and this has been a huge lifestyle changer, and not for the better. I have been waiting for hip replacement surgery as my condition worsened and then one day three weeks ago I suddenly couldn't walk or even stand on my own. I was taken to the hospital and diagnosed with a streptococcus infection of my left hip with avascular necrosis and femoral head collapse. They performed surgery to remove the infection and I am now in a long term acute care facility receiving IV antibiotics. I am barely able to walk to the bathroom with a walker, but am doing rehab to get some semblance of mobility back, but right now getting in and out of bed is a huge challenge. Hip replacement is at least 2 months away now because of this unfortunte turn of events. In addition I applied for disability with the government 18 months ago and have been denied disability payments twice now despite 3 doctors giving a diagnosis of my crippled state. I am now flat broke, have no means of earning income and I am scared of what I will face when I am discharged from the hospital in early August. I am asking for $5000 for lodging, in home care and medical expenses to get me through this difficult time while l wait for total hip replacement surgery. I need your support until I can literally get back on my feet again.
