I have recently experienced some major life setbacks.

My marriage ended a few months ago, and I have been left homeless, save for the good graces of some beloved friends. With my Ebay business no longer in operation, I am currently left without a source of steady income. Conspiring in the humorous nature the universe often engenders, I now also need a second hip replacement. Yeah. It will be at least two months before I am able to schedule the necessary operation, and then three subsequent months of recovery time will be necessary before I am able to work again. 

I am doing my best to avoid ending up in the NYC shelter system, but I am currently without a source of funds while homeless and injured. I never dreamed that I would would be asking for help in such a public manner - and I am embarrassed and humiliated to do so - but I find that I now need to ask for help with funds for food and shelter while going through this transition.
Any assistance you can offer will be appreciated.
