Hip Hop Against Hunger

Please join us for the 8th Annual Hip Hop Against Hunger fundraiser as we fight to end hunger and homelessness in Newark and Essex County by raising at least 2,000 pounds of food and $2000 dollars to benefit New Jersey’s largest homeless shelter, the YMCA of Newark and Vicinity.
To make a substantial impact in our fight against hunger and homelessness, we need support from people with compassion and a sense of community. Your generosity has the potential to change lives right here in our own backyard.
With over 760,000 people struggling with food insecurity in New Jersey (192,580 of which are children), the time for action is now. Hip Hop Against Hunger uses the power of music and community to make an impact in the lives of those who need it most. Since 2010, our movement has collected and distributed over 3,000 pounds of food, 500 bags of clothing & toiletries, and $1,500 in funds, all donated to local food banks and homeless shelters throughout Florida and New Jersey.
This family-friendly event will be held at The Yard at Military Park in Downtown Newark on September 18th and will feature live music, DJs, breakdancers, graffiti artists, vendors, and more. Sponsorship, vendor, and volunteer opportunities are currently available as well. For more info, visit www.hiphopagainsthunger.org and follow us @hiphopagainsthunger.
