Himalayan Xtri for Nepal's street dogs

We are Matt and Vikki – AKA Team Makki. We love mountains, adventures, triathlon, travelling and we also love animals – especially dogs. Many of our friends and family know that when we're not travelling and racing, we foster dogs at our home in the UK. We would love to use this opportunity to raise some money to help the street animals of Pokhara, where we are headed for our next triathlon.

We've done a few crazy challenges in our time, most notably the infamous Streatleyman, inspired by a certain extreme triathlon in Nepal that was cancelled in 2020. So now, we are actually going to Nepal, to do the race in real life! Himalayan Xtri will be an absolutely epic challenge in a beautiful, but brutal environment. Starting with a 3.5km swim at 4am in Lake Phewa, we'll then take on the 165km ride through the mountains climbing 3,800m on the way. The final nail in the coffin will be the 43km off-road run, climbing to a high-point of 4,000m above sea level.

Himalayan Animal Rescue Trust exists to try to redress some of the suffering endured by animals on the streets in Nepal through population control, outreach programmes, rabies control and welfare improvement by public awareness. A little goes a long way in Nepal, so every little helps. Please help us to help them improve the lives of animals in Pokhara and all over this beautiful country.
