Himalayan Health Exchange COVID Relief
Donation protected
Eight years ago I was feeling lost after not securing a residency position after medical school. As many of you know, I spent three months in India that transformed me as a physician and as a human being. I have struggled with how to serve a country and a people that gave me so much in my time of need, during their time of need. While in India I worked with an organization called Himalayan Health Exchange which serves the northern states of India and its Himalayan and Tibetan populations. I am raising money to help support them.
Here is a message from their founder Ravi Singh:
India’s brutal covid wave has limited our ability to continue our healthcare service to Tibetan refugees and Himalayan natives. A growing number of our patients are now seeking PPE supplies, pulse oximeters, oxygen concentrators and other supplies. Physicians and volunteers of Himalayan Health Exchange are raising funds for purchase of these essential supplies and they need your help. Your
contributions will support our clinics and our patients who are in dire need. Help the Himalayan Health Exchange give the chance to our patients to survive the current wave.
Following are the beneficiaries of supplies :
1) Tibetan Children’s Village
Location: Chauntra&Shuja/BIR, District Kangra , Himachal Pradesh
Population: 2,250 Tibetan refugee Children
2) Yangchen Choling Monastery (Nunnery)
Location: Village Hull ion of SPITI, Himachal Pradesh State
Population: 150 Nuns
3) Phugtar Gonpa (Monastery)
Location: Zanskar region of Ladakh
Population 200 Buddhist Monks
Please help where you can!
