Himalayan Guides Sherpa Fund

Himalayan Guides PVT lost three members of their guiding family in the Everest avalanche of 18th April 2014. Our dear friend Dorje Khatri, also Then Dorjee Sherpa and Phurtemba Sherpa.

The ice avalanche occurred off the West Shoulder of Everest and claimed the lives of 16 Sherpas.

Details of the accident can be seen by this link.

We all have this chance to help support Dorje's family. Dorje was a great friend to us all on our different trips and expeditions to Nepal. He was a much respected voice for Sherpas and mountaineering and was a Executive Board Member of the Nepal Mountaineering Association. A life lived, of that there can be no doubt.

Phur Temba Sherpa (brother of Aang Phurba Sherpa) leaves behind his frail parents and Then Dorjee Sherpa leaves behind a young daughter, wife and mother.

Please visit Dorje's Facebook page to see all the kind messages sent in from around the world. Share the link with everyone you know, the more people have the link the more there is chance for others to help out.

Iswari Paudel (Himalayan Guides) and Mark Brown (VLM Adventure Consultants) will jointly manage the fund and ensure the Sherpa families of Himalyan Guides PVT get all the support we can provide.

Thankyou.
