Northern Ireland Hospice - Hillsborough Half Marathon
So every now and again we all love a wee challenge don’t we? Well back in May time I challenged myself to run the Hillsborough Half Marathon, surely the hills of Hillsborough can’t be as bad as the hills of North Belfast. At least that’s what I’m hoping .
The half marathon is one of the Northern Ireland Hospice’s official fundraisers this year.
13.1 miles is tough, I have done 12 miles a couple of times in recent weeks but my hips and legs have let me know they don’t like it .
After missing two long runs for holiday I managed to get 11.3 miles in today (14/7/24) before my legs decided no more part way up the hill at Ballysillan Leisure centre.
We all know how wonderful the Northern Ireland Hospice is, not just for the care they give to their patients but also the care and kindness they show to the family and friends! They really do try to make it a home from home for all. Every penny they receive helps them to continue the wonderful work they do .
