Hilfe für OP in Kamerun - Help for Operation in Africa

Becky wird noch eine OP in ein paar Monaten benötigen die 500€ kosten wird. Die jetzige hatte knapp 2000€ gekostet plus die Medizin und die Utensilien, die sie davor kaufen musste. Dazu kommen dann noch die Kosten für Medizin und Nachbehandlungen. Allein heute beliefen sich diese Kosten auf knapp 150€.

Reginas OP Kosten wurden jetzt auch bekannt gegeben und sind pro Ohr rein für die OP jeweils 1000€. Dazu kommt dann noch jeweils Medikamente und Nachbehandlung. Reginas Familie wird versuchen einen Teil der Kosten zu übernehmen, aber bisher haben sie im letzten halben Jahr nur etwa 300€ zusammenbekommen. Der Tumor ist inzwischen so groß, dass Regina nicht mehr richtig hört und an manchen Tagen total benommen und nicht ansprechbar ist.

Da Alle schon so großzügig waren, wollen wir gar nicht für mehr Geld fragen. Aber falls noch etwas reinkommt, nehmen wir es gern als Unterstützung für die Ohren-OP. Reginas enge Freunde und Familie sind auch dabei Geld zu sammeln bzw. anzufragen bei allen, die sie kennen. Aber da sie aus dem Kriegsgebiet kommen, sind die meisten bei uns in der Versammlung (Gemeinde) super arm. Also denke ich, es schadet nicht, diesen Link noch etwas aktiv zu lassen.

Bei Bedarf schicke ich euch gern Belege der bereits bezahlten Rechnungen und Screenshots meiner Überweisungen. Fühlt euch frei, mir alle Fragen zu stellen. Es ist alles sehr transparent.

Becky will need another surgery in a few months, which will cost €500. The current surgery cost just under €2,000, plus the medication and supplies she had to buy beforehand. Then there are the costs for medication and follow-up treatments. Today alone, these costs amounted to just under €150. Regina's surgery costs have now been announced and are €1,000 per ear for the surgery alone. In addition, there are medications and follow-up treatments. Regina's family will try to cover some of the costs, but so far, they've only raised about €300 in the last six months. The tumor is now so large that Regina can no longer hear properly and is completely dazed and unresponsive on some days. Since everyone has already been so generous, we don't want to ask for more money. But if anything else comes in, we'd gladly accept it as support for the ear surgery. Regina's close friends and family are also raising money or asking everyone who knows her for donations. But since they come from the war zone, most of the people in our congregation are extremely poor. So I think it doesn't hurt to keep this link active for a while.

Hallo zusammen,

meine langjährige Freundin Becky hatte vorgestern einen furchtbaren Unfall hier in Kamerun (Afrika) mit einem komplizierten Beinbruch (siehe Bilder) und braucht dringend Hilfe, das sie die Kosten für die dringend benötigte OP nicht tragen kann. Hier in Kamerun gibt es keine Gesundheitsversicherungen wie bei uns in Deutschland. Man muss alles selber zahlen und sogar Kissen selbst mitbringen ins Krankenhaus.

Hier ein paar Details:

Mein Name ist Sabrina Jäggi und ich bin für aktuell für 4 Monate in Kamerun, nachdem ich vor der Pandemie bereits hier gelebt habe. Becky kenne ich schon all die Jahre und sie ist eine sehr hilfsbereite, fleißige und positive junge Frau und wirklich gute Freundin für mich.

Becky ist erst 23 und kommt eigentlich aus dem englischen Teil in Kamerun ist aber aufgrund des Krieges schon vor einigen Jahren hierher nach Douala (französischer Teil des Landes) geflohen und so haben wir uns kennengelernt. Ihre Familie hat durch den Krieg viel verloren und ist sehr arm. Becky selber hat nicht viel und teilt sich mit 3 anderen Familien einen großen Raum, der nur mit Holzplanke abgetrennte provisorische Räume hat. In einem dieser Räume lebt sie mit ihrer Cousine Regine, die aktuell auch auf dringend benötigte Tumor-OPs an beiden Ohren wartet, die sie aufgrund von Geldmangel nicht machen konnte bisher.

Ich kennen die Familie sehr gut und stehe für weitere Fragen gerne zur Verfügung. Normalerweise frage ich nicht für andere nach Geld. Aber in diesem Fall kenne ich die Familie und die Details sehr gut und schätze jede Unterstützung.

Falls mehr Geld reinkommen sollte als benötigt, gebe ich es Regine für ihre Tumor-OP.

My long-time friend Becky had a terrible accident here in Cameroon (Africa) the day before yesterday, resulting in a complicated leg fracture (see pictures) and urgently needs help because she can't afford the costs of the urgently needed surgery. Here in Cameroon, there is no health insurance like we have in Germany. You have to pay for everything yourself and even bring your own pillows to the hospital.

Here are a few more details:

My name is Sabrina Jäggi, and I'm currently in Cameroon for four months, having already lived here before the pandemic. I've known Becky for all these years, and she's a very helpful, hardworking, and positive young woman and a truly good friend to me. Becky is only 23 and originally comes from the English part of Cameroon, but fled here to Douala (the French part of the country) several years ago due to the war, and that's how we met. Her family suffered a lot in the war and is very poor. Becky herself doesn't have much and shares a large room with three other families, which has only makeshift rooms separated by wooden planks. She lives in one of these rooms with her cousin Regine, who is currently awaiting urgently needed tumor surgeries on both ears, which she hasn't been able to have until now due to a lack of money.

I know the family very well and am happy to answer any further questions. I don't usually ask for money on behalf of others. But in this case, I know the family and the details very well and appreciate any support.

If more money comes in than needed, I will give it to Regine for her tumor surgery.
