My name is Salma, and I came to Croatia hoping for safety and a new start. Instead, I experienced severe domestic violence — not just once, but three times in three different relationships. I was physically assaulted, starved, and left with no food, shelter, or protection. I had to escape and leave everything behind.

Each time I tried to rebuild my life, I was hurt again. Now I am staying temporarily in a shelter, but they are asking me to leave because I refused to live with someone who mistreated me again. I have no income, no job, and no support. My mental and physical health are suffering deeply.

I am asking for your help to rent a small, safe place for six months. I need peace to recover, to heal, and to prepare for an upcoming court case related to the violence and injustice I suffered. I cannot live with strangers or in unsafe places, especially with people using drugs. I just want to live alone and regain my stability and dignity.

Unfortunately, I have received no help from local services. The Red Cross in Croatia only helps feel invisible and forgotten. I have survived only through the kindness of people around me.
