Hilfe für die Zwillingswaisen

Elias und Raphaela wurden im April 2009 als Zwillinge geboren. Sie sind das große Glück ihrer Eltern Martin und Johanna. Es war nicht selbstverständlich, dass die beiden Eltern werden, da Martin bereits als Kind an Krebs erkrankt war. Als die beiden 1,5 Jahre alt sind, kommt der Krebs zurück und diesmal schafft es Martin nicht, ihn zu besiegen. Johanna bleibt mit den Kleinen allein zurück. Der Verlust reißt Johanna den Boden unter den Füßen weg, was sicherlich auch an den Kindern nicht spurlos vorbei gegangen ist. Trotz der schwierigen Umstände, schafft es Johanna mit unendlicher Liebe, zwei wundervolle Kinder großzuziehen. Im Jahr 2021 wird bei Johanna Brustkrebs diagnostiziert. Nach mehreren OPs sieht es so aus, dass sie den Kampf gewonnen hat.

Seit Jahren haben die drei den Traum, mal eine längere Zeit in Australien zu verbringen. Hier ist Johanna mit ihren Eltern und ihren Geschwistern, als sie sieben Jahre alt war, hin ausgewandert und aufgewachsen.

Im Dezember 2024 ist es dann endlich soweit und die drei fliegen für einen Exchange in der 10. Klasse gemeinsam für einige Monate in die Heimat von Johanna. Nach kurzer Zeit fängt es an, Johanna schlecht zu gehen. Sie bekommt schwer Luft und hat große Mühe sich fortzubewegen.

Anfang März erhält die Familie die Diagnose, dass der Krebs zurück und nicht mehr heilbar ist. Sie erliegt diesem Leiden bereits am 8. März 2025.

Für Raphaela und Elias bricht eine Welt zusammen. Die Diagnose und der Tod ihrer Mutter erfolgte so unfassbar schnell und unerwartet. Zum Glück sind sie in dieser schweren Zeit des Abschieds in der Familie in Australien eingebettet.

Ende April wird der Exchange zu Ende sein und sie gehen in ihren Alltag nach Stapelfeld bei Hamburg zurück. Hier wohnten sie bis jetzt in einem Haus ihres verstorbenen Vaters.

Um hier weiter wohnen zu können, wird ganz dringend einiges an Geld von Nöten sein. Das Haus könnte aus zwei Wohnungen bestehen. Die Familie plant, dass Lukas, der Lebensgefährte von Johanna, der selber zwei Kinder im Alter von 10 und 13 Jahren hat, unten in die Wohnung ziehen kann.

Bisher gleicht das Erdgeschoss aber noch einer Baustelle.

Wenn hier ein Umbau realisiert würde, könnten die Zwillinge in ihrer gewohnten Umgebung bleiben und von Lukas betreut werden.

Help for orphaned twins:

Twins Elias and Raphaela were born in April 2009. They are the great joy of their parents, Martin and Johanna. It was not a given that the two would become parents, as Martin himself had survived childhood cancer. When the twins were 1.5 years old, the cancer returned, and this time Martin was unable to defeat it.

Johanna was left alone with the little ones. The loss knocked the ground from under her feet, and it certainly left its mark on the children as well. Despite the difficult circumstances, Johanna managed to raise two incredible children with endless love.

In 2021, Johanna herself was diagnosed with breast cancer. After several surgeries and months of treatment, it looked as if she had won the battle.

For years, the three had dreamed of spending an extended period of time in Australia. Johanna emigrated to Australia with her parents and siblings when she was seven years old and grew up there.

In December 2024, the time finally arrived, and the three of them flew to Johanna's homeland for a few months for a school exchange. After a short time, Johanna began to feel unwell. She had a persistent cough and great difficulty breathing.

At the beginning of March, the family received the diagnosis that the cancer had returned and was no longer curable. She succumbed to this illness on March 8, 2025.

For Raphaela and Elias, their world collapsed. The diagnosis and death of their mother came so incredibly quickly and unexpectedly. Fortunately, they are embedded in the family in Australia during this difficult time of saying goodbye.

The exchange will end at the end of April, and they will return to their everyday lives in Hamburg, Germany. Until now, they have lived their whole life in the home belonging to their deceased father.

To continue living there, they urgently need a considerable sum of money. The house could then consist of sufficient living space to allow for Lukas, Johanna's partner, who has two children aged 10 and 13, to move in as well.

So far, the ground floor still resembles a construction site.

If a renovation were to be carried out, the twins could remain in their familiar surroundings and be cared for by Lukas.
