"A friend is the cure for all diseases."
In September 2016, my dear friend and lovely co-worker, Hilda Gomez was diagnosed with breast cancer. Hilda is and has been so strong through it all, after all she single handedly raised 3 boys and is grandmother to 6.
Soon after just in time for the holidays she began chemo. Having endured the pains of chemo all through the holidays into the end of the year.... only to follow with radiation. Not to mention how she was at work a couple of days after chemo sometimes even a day after treatment. The same with radiation bright and early in the morning... then off to the office by 8 am. Hilda has such a warrior spirit.
Even with health insurance treatment gets expensive. Hilda has never expressed any grief always with an "I got this attitude!"...however she is the main source of income as her husband of 26 years is retired with medical bills on top of the usual bills can become a burden.
As we all know no one plans to get cancer and we don't necessarily have a way of preparing for it either. I'd like to help her by taking some of the weight off her shoulders and hope that some of you can find it in your hearts to support the cause.
I thank you all in advance!
If you have a friend or family member with cancer try not to look at them with sad eyes, treat them like you always have just show a little extra love.
