Hilda Montes-Bonjour

Hi everyone, my name is Hannah Espinoza, One of Hilda’s 3 daughters. I want to start off by saying that it’s with an aching and heavy heart that I inform you that my mother, Hilda Montes-Bonjour, unfortunately passed away (Oct. 14th, 2023) from complications from her surgery for pancreatic cancer last June.

My mother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last October and went through with Chemo for several months until her surgery date in June. This surgery was deemed a successful one and she was on the road to recovery. This surgery also left my other with no Pancreas; meaning she was now a diabetic. adapting to these changes were very challenging but we ultimately got through them. after a few months post- op, my mother fell ill and slipped into a coma. The reasoning why she fell into a coma remains unclear, but her organs were putting in a lot of work to keep her alive.

Those who knew my mom know that my mom’s love was pure and unconditional. She had the will of a warrior and the most admirable dedication you’d had ever seen. My mother’s memory still lives within my sisters and I and so many more that she influenced around her.
