I’m creating this GoFundMe with a heavy heart and trembling hands. My brother, Hilario who many knew as Roman left this world far too soon.

It is with deep sorrow that we share the heartbreaking loss of my brother, its heavy and deeply saddening to many that he took his own life.

Roman was funny, smart, and full of the contradictions that made him who he was. He carried pain in his heart, but he still showed up with kindness, humor, and generosity. He’d give you the shirt off his back, even if it meant going without one. Adventurous and stubborn, compassionate and imperfect—he was deeply human.

He wasn’t perfect, but he was honest. He didn’t always follow the rules, but he had a big heart. He could be impatient, but he never judged others. Roman forged his own path in life, and while we tried to help him, in the end, he made his own choices. We will forever hold on to the love, the laughter, and the unforgettable memories he left us with.

We are raising funds to cover the costs of his funeral and memorial services, and to support our family as we navigate this unimaginable grief. Any contribution, no matter the size, will help ease the financial burden and allow us to honor him properly.
