Fundraising for Ai4Autism
I like hiking and on October 2020, we completed a 632 mile walk from Brighton to Scotland to raise money and awareness to kick-start our smart-device to help people with autism using the power of AI.
We trekked through mud, rain, wind and scorching heat, over steep hills and along dangerous ledges. But it was worth it.
I did this for the children I know who have autism, the people in my life with autistic family members and for people who want technology that genuinely makes lives better.
Artificial Intelligence, or AI for short, is a study of automated systems, designed to help us with difficult tasks.
Such as me walking from Brighton to Scotland using Google Maps and Maps.me on my smartphone instead of an A-to-Z or a compass.
Autism refers to a range of human conditions that could affect how a person relates to, interacts with and understands the world around them.
There are currently over 700,000 diagnosed with Autism in the UK (Source www.autism.org.uk)
So, what is AI for Autism?
AI for Autism is an ambitious project, bringing together computer programmers, healthcare professionals, parents and carers to find solutions to help identify trigger points for autistic people with sensory sensitivity.
With your help, we can build the technology to help them and assist their loved ones.
We had a target of £30K that went towards hiking gear, travel, food, websites, t-shirts, flyers and all the boring stuff.
Now that the hike has been completed, funds will be going towards software development, promotion and raising awareness for Ai4Autism.
We believe that using AI is the key to solving many of the problems with diagnosing and managing autism, especially for the people with sensory sensitivity issues and meltdowns.
