Hiking for Women Battling Cancer's Burden
Donation protected
As most of you know, I’m about to start a journey to hike the Appalachian Trail. I have a few causes for why I am hiking the trail. One of them being that almost 8 years ago, my wife of 37 years passed from Stage IV metastatic breast cancer. She fought it for 4 years and unfortunately lost her battle. We were fortunate enough to have the funds to pay for all the medical expenses that incurred with that battle.
I want to raise money for a program called WIN (Women in Need). It’s a non-profit organization that helps women battling sicknesses such as cancer to help pay their utility bills, rent, mortgage, travel, etc. What struck me to do this is I just recently had a friend pass from cancer who was in dire need. That should’ve never happened.
I plan on matching up to $2,000.00 on what I hope to raise. I ask you to please donate what you can if possible. This is a great organization that really helps without the red tape. It’s another way to motivate myself on this hike, knowing that I’m helping along with you who donate to help someone in need. Thank you.
