I'm hiking 3000 miles from Mexico to Canada through the Rocky Mountains and raising funds for therapy equipment for disabled orphans at Sarah's Covenant Homes.
What is it exactly?
Across India, children with disabilities are at an increased risk of being abandoned by their birth families. These children languish in state and government orphanages that over overcrowded, understaffed, and are not equipped to care for the needs of any child, especially those with disabilities. Sarah’s Covenant Homes, or SCH (https://schindia.com), is a non-profit organization created in response to this crisis. We bring children with disabilities out of these orphanages and welcome them into one of our small scale, family-style foster homes. We provide our kids with education, therapy, nutritious meals, safety, comfort, and love. Our long term goal is to see these kids returning to or joining loving families. Yet while our kids are entrusted to us, we are fiercely committed to providing them with holistic care to meet their individual needs and supporting their growth and development.
