Every year our intrepid explorers Maria and Timi hike a gruelling 20 miles (or more) in one day, to raise funds for essential infrastructure jobs at the sanctuary.

This year they will be marching from the Cambrian mountains to Cors Caron Marshes to raise funds for more mud stabilisation mats.

These are for the large field shelter used by the main herd of precious rescued horses and ponies. The weather comes in the front of the shelter causing any surface we've tried to turn to mud. Being so high up and at the mercy of Winter gales, putting an overhang on is not an option. These mats are tried and tested and brilliant.

They are also recycled, incredibly durable and will give the herd much needed respite from the mud for their feet. It's essential that horses' feet dry out as being in mud permanently can cause many health issues.

We want to raise £1000 to buy just over one full pallet of mats.
