Highland Park family of 5 lost everything in fire

Hello, we are the Lightsey's. Monday January 1, 2024 at 10pm our family faced a catastrophe beyond anything imaginable. As we were winding down for the evening with hopes of a prosperous 2024, our family home caught fire. We tried to extinguish the fire but it was already out of control. With quick thinking Brandon Lightsey the man of the house, with great pause came to terms that we had to jump out the second story window at the very back of the home where the fire trapped us. Brandon decided to take the lead and jump first breaking his foot. Through the excruciating pain, he then caught his three children ages 5, 3, and 1 that Sharon Mayhawk the woman of the house had to drop down to him. He then caught Sharon as she jumped as well. With out his valiant effort, sacrifice and tremendous leadership we all may have lost our lives. That faithful night the home and everything we owned was lost in this traumatic event.
