Help Highland Brass go to National Championships!

Donation protected
After much preparation and rebuilding after the pandemic lockdowns, Highland Brass were crowned the 4th Section Champions at the 2023 Scottish Brass Band Association Championship, which was held on the 12th March!

This means we have qualified to compete at the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain, being held in Cheltenham on the 16th of September 2023.

Taking over 30 brass and percussionists and their instruments, from the Scottish Highlands to Cheltenham is an expensive undertaking. We are a small organisation with limited funds. We are appealing great and wide for funding to help us get there. Help us represent Scotland in the 4th Section and show the country that the brass players from the Scottish Highlands are a force to be reckoned with.

About the band:

In Scotland, brass bands can be found in almost every region and community, however it was identified that in the Highlands there was a huge gap where brass bands have either never been found, or brass music has fizzled out over time. In 2013, Highland Brass Band was founded to fill this gap.

Highland Brass Band is non profit organisation aiming promote the education and training of people of all ages in the playing of brass and percussion instruments and their appreciation of brass band music. We aim to promote public appreciation and understanding of brass band music and to stimulate interest in the art of brass band playing for the benefit of the public generally. This is especially important in the Highland Region and in localities and to audiences where access to Brass Band music would normally be precluded.

We will meet our aim by establishing and maintain relations with other brass bands or equivalent organisations anywhere in the world, taking part in competitions operated by various brass band organisations (including the band) and concerts throughout Scotland and the world, organising tutorials and workshops for members of the Band and the public to improve their playing abilities and their understanding of brass band music and to carry out any other activity which can reasonably be held to be in the interest of members.

In addition to the Highland Brass Band players, we have an award-winning training band, the Highland Future Brass.
