Thelma Madrigal is my mom. She has been committed to serve others as a nurse for over 50 years. Thelma is the youngest of 6 children and severalstep siblings, all highly educated. Her father was the dean of a university in the Philippines and a lawyer. Her mother was a 3rd grade teacher for 35 years. Both her parents were entrepreneurs, with a cap and gown business. They employed over 65 people, and the promise to my grandparents upon employment was that they go to college; my grandparents paid for more than 65 people (not related to them ) to get a college education. Education is transformative and is a way to help us become lifetime learners. As my mother is now in hospice, it would be her greatest desire to make sure her youngest grandchildren are able to go to college and pass on the lifetime legacy my grandparents started. She doesn't love flowers or plants. She firmly believes in education for all members of her family ❤️
