Hi, my name is Rachel and I am one of the owners of High Voltage Fitness. It's been a devastating week for Los Angeles. I don't know a single person who isn't personally connected to someone who lost everything in one way or another.
More than anything, High Voltage is a community, and when our community experiences loss, we come together to support them.
The High Voltage community has two members who have lost everything in the Eaton fire, and bearing witness to their personal devastation as well as the devastation of our city is nothing short of heartbreaking.
Jeffrey Swartz has been a part of the High Voltage community for years. He and his two cats have lost every possession they have, and his home of 18 years is gone. While Jeffrey's presence has been missed recently as he made the transition to a CrossFit gym closer to his home in Altadena, he still comes to our events quite frequently and is very much a part of our community.
Brian McMahon is one of the newest members of the High Voltage community. He has recently relocated to Burbank after losing his home in the Eaton fire. Brian and his family are making the best of a bad situation, and we want to welcome them into the High Voltage community in a way that only we can—with a show of love and support.
All donations will be split between Jeffrey and Brian to help them and their families as they navigate this tragedy.
In an effort to not overwhelm Brian or Jeffrey during such a stressful time, if you have any messages or words of support you would like to offer, please send them to the gyms email, and I will make sure they get them.
Let's do what we do best and come together to support our community during its time of need!
