Ken Wenzel here. In early 2020, I'll be heading into the studio to record my third album, High Tides & Misdemeanors - and I'll need your help in bringing this new record to life.
I couldn't be more excited about this -- it's been five years since the release of my last record, 2014's "...Beneath Potomac Skies".
A lot of life has happened in those five years. Life changes, loss in my family, moving, personal growth. These are all themes I'm exploring on this new record - High Tides & Misdemeanors.
Quiet, organic, and deep, yet rhythmic and moving - High Tides & Misdemeanors will be a record you can play while sitting on your porch, chilling at the beach, making dinner, enjoying a glass of wine, or driving home after a long day at work. Melodies and words that work their way into your mind and soul, and hopefully stay there. I'll be using some of the same instruments that were used on "...Beneath Potomac Skies", but there will be new instruments, sounds and textures as well. I'm looking forward to really pushing myself into new territory in the making of this record.
This is where GoFundMe, and hopefully, you -- come in. Making a record is expensive, even in this day and age. Studio time, extra musicians, recording engineers, mixing, mastering, CD manufacture -- not to mention promotion, PR, and other post-release expenses -- all must be paid for by the artist.
