My name is Beth, and I am a high school English teacher for an underserved community. I am planning a field trip to see Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale at the Folger Theatre with my students this fall in conjunction with our study of the text; unfortunately, field trips are expensive!
I believe that all students deserve to experience the magic of live theater. We all remember the rush of excitement a field trip brings; I want my students to have the opportunity to feel that joy. The goal of this fundraiser is to cover the cost of the trip for 30 high school students.
The costs for the trip are:
- $750 for tickets (30 tickets at the discounted student matinee rate of $25/ticket)
- $850 for transportation
- $360 to cover the cost of three substitute teachers for three teacher chaperones
