Help High School Scholarship Fund

Last March, St. Louis-based pastor George Love used his nonprofit to give four hardworking students at Vashon High School $500 each ($2000 in total) in scholarship money. The scholarship money was raised privately by Mr. Love himself; not a penny was acquired through government assistance or fundraising. Mr. Love simply saw an opportunity to invest in these young adults' futures and acted. He has no intention of stopping soon.

This isn't an unusual maneuver for George Love. As founder of his nonprofit, Prepared The Gateway of the Northwest , Mr. Love has been feeding, clothing, and educating urban communities in St. Louis, Chicago, and Tacoma for two decades. He typically funds his activities through his own labor or small donations from community members who believe in his mission.

Why we need your help:

Mr. Love is continuing his mission to grant scholarships to inner city youth at Vashon High School and throughout the St. Louis Public School District. Although he is currently working two jobs (one of them being a custodian job at Vashon High) to raise funds for deserving students, the reality is, he's gonna need our help to scale his efforts.

Many of these students and their families don't have the resources to adequately invest in their educational futures, so a $500 check goes a long way. Also, by investing in these kids' futures, we send a hopeful message to other students from disadvantaged areas: "If you invest in yourself, others will invest in you."

$5 is all it takes to help.

If you would like to directly impact the future of deserving students in a simple yet incredibly effective way, please donate and share this page. If we can get 1000 people donating at least $5 (the price of a deli sandwich or tall cup of coffee), we will reach our goal very quickly.

Thank you for your contributions. If you cannot contribute at this time, sharing this page on social media or through email would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. If we meet our goal, we will continue to update this page long after the campaign has ended with pictures and stories of the students you invested in.
