My name is John Dugan, and I am a boy's soccer coach at Kenwood Academy High School looking for financial support so our players can play club soccer. After the fall school season, 20 of our players tried out for Berber City FC's high school teams. 7 made the first team, and the other 13 made the second team. The coaches and directors of the club graciously gave partial to full scholarships to our players, but we are still looking to raise funds for at least four players. The full price per player is $1800 for the winter/spring seasons, but Berber City has awarded $800 scholarships for these 4 players. The players' parents gave written consent to pay $500 if the other $500 is fundraised to allow their child to play for the team. The club's schedule include 2 practices and 1 game per week. In the winter, both teams will play in leagues at the Chicago Fire Pitch and the first team will play in a college showcase tournament. In the spring, the first team will play in the NPL as well as another college showcase tournament and the second team will play in the YSSL. The benefits of club soccer are boundless, including competition, friendships, and the opportunity to play college soccer.
