Join us for DOUBLE celebrations at High Hopes today!
Firstly, we are celebrating the birthday of the incredible woman who started it all — our founder, the heart and soul of High Hopes… Sam!
Compassionate, determined, and dedicated, Sam is the reason over 2,000 dogs, 100 cats, and a handful of other furry friends have been rescued, rehabilitated, and rehomed since 2018. Every single one of those lives is part of her legacy.
It all began when Sam visited Romania and saw, firsthand, the reality for so many animals. On her birthday, she made a promise: “I have to do something.” That promise became High Hopes Dog Rescue.
Since then, Sam has poured her heart, soul, and countless hours into making a difference. Her intuition, skill, and sheer love for the dogs inspire many people. One of Sam’s best traits which passes through to both her human and fur friends is her encouragement and belief. Our Sam is a fantastic mentor and her expertise has supported so many of our volunteers and adopters.
So today, we celebrate the reason High Hopes came to be…. we celebrate Sam.
We hope today brings you your favourite things, Sam — including some well-earned rest!
Please join the High Hopes team — and all the dogs who owe their lives to her — in wishing the happiest of birthdays to our founder, our friend, and our calm and stable.
Happy Birthday, Sam!
Your promise changed everything.
As you may have guessed…. It’s also High Hopes Dog Rescue’s 7th Birthday today!
Today, we’re not just celebrating 2 birthdays (our founder Sam shares her birthday with us) — we’re celebrating over 2,000 lives saved. That’s 2,000 second chances, 2,000 tails wagging, and 2,000 families made whole thanks to the unstoppable love and dedication of Team High Hopes.
In the past seven years, we’ve faced challenges, heartbreaks, and moments of doubt — but every time, we’ve come through stronger. Because when a dog finds hope, so do we.
We are incredibly proud of what we’ve built — not just a rescue, but a community and we have some thank you’s to share:
To our volunteers, homecheckers, events crew, fundraisers, kennel teams that help us care for the dogs, fosters, drivers, donation organisers, contracts team — past and present volunteers — thank you. You are the engine behind every rescue and the heart of High Hopes.
To our adopters — you are part of our legacy. Thank you for opening your hearts, sharing your stories, and continuing to support us long after the adoption day.
To our followers and supporters — whether you donate, share, comment, or cheer us on from afar — you’re awesome. You’re helping us write the next chapter.
And to the incredible rescuers we’ve had the honour to work alongside — thank you for the laughs, the tears, and the fight. Every dog’s journey begins with your bravery.
These past few years haven’t been easy — the world of rescue is stretched thinner than ever — but we’re still here. Still fighting. Still believing. Still saving lives.
Because every single dog we help reminds us why we started.
So today, we ask for two things (and you can’t say no because it’s our birthday!!):
1️⃣ Share your High Hopes stories – let us see the happy endings and the hopeful beginnings.
2️⃣ If you’re able, please make a donation to mark our 7th birthday. Whether it’s 7p, £7 or £70, every penny powers the next rescue.
And don’t forget! We’re throwing our 7 Years of Rescue Celebration on Sunday 14th September (We picked September so the dogs don’t have to battle the August heat!) It’s going to be a fantastic day full of fun, community, and wagging tails — and we’d love you to be there.
Happy 7th Birthday, High Hopes.
Here’s to the next 7 years of saving lives, together.
