Guys!! Levi is going to be a teenager!!

Y’all know how much Levi loves giving high fives…

We are inviting you to celebrate this boys’ miraculous life with us, if you are able, by gifting $5 (or any multiple of $5) to celebrate this upcoming miraculous birthday (Dec. 19) and help provide Levi with safe and reliable transportation (wheelchair w/ power-assist and van). Levi is an incredibly special kid who was expected at birth to live about 2 years (according to the research). Multiple surgeries, therapies, emergencies and miracles later…HE’S TURNING 13 in less than one month! After nearly dying of complications secondary to COVID, he’s on his third year of at-home IV nutrition, growing like a weed and seems determined to continue to bless this world with his presence.

Unfortunately the same cannot be said for his now 10-year old wheelchair van, whose dash board is getting an early start on celebrating Christmas!

….aaaand his now 5-year old wheelchair, which he’s beginning to dwarf- and without a power-assist, caregivers are starting to struggle with the push up-hill, and the scary descents as well..

Levi is a busy boy and enjoys outings every day to support his therapy and at-home eduction. With his wheelchair and accessible van, he drives with parents and caregivers to appointments at BC Children’s hospital as well as various therapies such as music therapy, aquatherapy, physiotherapy and speech language pathology. He visits museums, community events, and shows as well as church weekly with his family. His van is his connection to the world around him and one of the hugest blessings in his life. It’s also one of the most expensive- modifications and inflation have brought this approximately $60,000 purchase to approximately $80,000.

And his wheelchair needs: Levi can push himself, and does! It’s a joy for him to have this agency- it was a skill he worked to improve on for years. The government will fully fund an electric CHAIR (which Levi is too able for), but not a power-assist in oddition to a manual-push chair (don’t ask me why). This is an additional $10,000 that must be covered by the family to safely take Levi on tougher terrain.

Ten years ago, charitable organizations could be accessed to help with large purchases such as these. However, the criteria has become much more strict and the tens of thousands of dollars that were raised 10 years ago are no longer accessible, which proves to be a challenge for a single-income family.

Your CELEBRATORY ☺️ funds will go towards the purchase of a new wheelchair van and a new wheelchair with a power assist.

Any additional funds (if any) will go towards Levi’s non-profit society, which the family has been working on establishing for the past year.

Levi’s non-profit society is called “For the Love of Levi Care Society” in honour of all the love that Levi has received at the hands of doctors, nurses, clergy, caregivers, family, friends and neighbours- and to show a commitment to carrying that love into the future in the form of exceptional in-home care.
