Higgy Con 2024 Fundraiser

•What am I fundraising for?

I am fundraising to cover the cost of gas, food, and hotels for Higgy Con. Higgy Con is an annual get together of teens who have scoliosis and I get the opportunity to be a voice for males with scoliosis who are often overlooked as apart of the scoliosis community and speak infront of a variety of doctors, scoliosis warriors, and their parents.

500 people and I would love to share my story to inspire others!

•My Story

Hey! My name is Sam. I am 15 and found out I was diagnosed with scoliosis when I was 11. I was put in and out of 3 different braces but none of them seemed to help my scoliosis. I was then notified that I needed spinal fusion surgery! At first I was pretty worried, but after finding the scoliosis community on Instagram I felt much more comfortable! Fast forward 2 years and 3 of my screws came loose in my back! I was told I needed one more surgery to replace the screws and add some reinforcement around the first 2 rods. I am currently 3 months post op and feeling incredible!
