Higgins-Ward Family Fire Recovery Funds
Donation protected
In the early morning hours of December 27th a fire ignited in the basement of Elise and Jeffrey's home. Fortunately, their roommate was still visiting family when the fire started and Elise, Jeffrey, and sweet baby Aidan were all able to safely exit the house (their dog Sable was also not harmed). After being checked out by the local hospital the family was discharged with only slightly elevated carbon monoxide levels.
While we are ever so grateful no one was physically harmed in the fire, there has been a significant loss. Their roommate Carla, whose bedroom was in the basement, lost all personal belongings in the fire. And Jeffrey, who is currently in the process of preparing to open his first restaurant, was hit hard as his home office was in the basement.
The upcoming weeks will definitely be challenging for the family in the wake of the fire. They do have insurance however things like replacing Jeffrey's laptop, Carla's clothing, and just maneuvering everyday things like meals and a safe play space for Aidan while the home is under repair is an urgent concern.
If you have the means to contribute to Elise, Jeffrey, Aidan, or Carla please do so. We understand that we are still in the midst of the most expensive time of year for most folks so if you're unable to donate please send these lovely people your positive vibes, prayers, and loving energy.
If you have other ideas on how to help please reach out to Bridgette or Claire!
