Higgins Needs Your Help

Hi everyone,

As many of you may have heard, last week, my sister’s dog, Higgins, was viciously attacked by another dog whilst on a daily stroll with her son Ryan. This unprovoked, aggressive, latch and tear attack has required two emergency surgeries, up to this point, as well as what is likely to be months of treatment going forward.

He is currently at the emergency clinic, following his second surgery early this morning, where he will remain hooked up to an IV which is pumping in antibiotics in hopes of dealing with the secondary infection.

Unfortunately, the owner of the other dog has not been located, nor did she remain at the scene to assist my distraught nephew, leaving Karen without any medical background information (rabies, etc…), but more importantly, she is now left trying to pay the financial costs of keeping her fur baby alive.

With Covid and our Province-wide shutdowns, Karen was forced to cancel her pet insurance.

Up to this point, following 2 emergency surgeries and constant care, she is out of pocket $7000, and this is just the beginning.

Karen, and her children are all completely distraught, as Higgins is their everything.
